Itamajor, a member of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), who arrived in the country on Saturday, met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Berhanu Jula.

The aim is to reach a common understanding on Somalia's mandate and prepare for today's meeting.
In their discussions, they discussed in depth the energy crisis in Somalia and what needs to be done next.
Following this meeting, discussions are currently underway with African Union stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by officials from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Somalia Itamajor and Djibouti Deputy Prime Minister Etamajor AMISOM Force Commander.
The meeting, which has been taking place at the African Union's Julius Nerere Hall since this morning, is expected to conclude today.

The Commander of the Juba Sector, Lt. Gen. Ardinabat Batsur, said the exchange of experiences between South Sudan and other countries involved in international peacekeeping missions through cultural festivals and sports events is significant.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, who attended the Cultural Festival and Sports Competition Ceremony between Ethiopia and Rwanda Peacekeepers, the Cultural Festival between the two countries will strengthen the African brotherhood and the sport will play an important role in the success of the joint peacekeeping mission.
The cultural festival and the competition was co-ordinated by UNAMIS Women's Affairs Bureau and organized by the 15th Ethiopian Motorized Peacekeeping Battalion, said UNITIS Women's Affairs Officer Major Qurat Yui.
He said work is underway to increase the participation of women in international peacekeeping missions.
Ethiopia and Rwanda have long fond memories of working together for peace. The United States is currently carrying out a joint mission in the United States.
At the Cultural Festival, various traditional Ethiopian dances were performed.
