Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abebe and senior government officials were present at the event.
Demeke Mekonnen, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), who launched the program, said it is a movement that has inspired Pan-Africanism and the black people in general.
Demeke said the invading forces have committed many heinous acts to humiliate Ethiopia. The people who have been in the invading forces say they need our support.
"We hope you will return to the country with your weapons," he said.
Addis Ababa Mayor, Adanech Abebe, on her part, conveyed a message of welcome to the Diaspora.
He expressed his appreciation for the Diaspora's response to the Western intervention.
"The return of the Diaspora is a special story," she said.
He said a 14-day bazaar has been opened in the city from today, calling on them to be proud of their Ethiopian products and serve their country in various fields.
Dr. Mohamed Idris, Deputy Head of the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, said we will work hard to make the participation of the Diaspora in Ethiopia real and tangible.
