At the Central Command, a Regiment football team played a friendly match against the Sekota City Soccer Team of the Wag Umra Zone.
Regiment Commander Lt. Gen. Getachew Ashenafi said the match was played in a manner that was culturally and politically sound for both teams.

Mesfin Mekonnen, head of the sports team of the Sekota City Culture and Tourism Sports Office, said that the army is playing a friendly match to maintain its public safety, not only to the Sekota football team but also to our people in general.

Abdi Yakob, one of the players, said that the main purpose of the game is to strengthen the unity and love of the army and the people.

For his part, Sekota City Football Team's Ambel, a young man, said he was "delighted" by our recent friendly clean-up operation with the Defense Forces.
