Marathon Motors launches electric vehicle charging station

Addis Ababa: December 29, 2014  Marathon Motors today inaugurated a charging station for 20 electric vehicles and electric vehicles.

The 20 vehicles are electric-powered and have been dubbed "Handa Koina" and "Handa Ayonk".

The vehicles will cost up to 3.5 million birr each.

They are said to be supportive of electricity and fuel-free, which will not only reduce the country's foreign exchange earnings but also support the country's economy.

Marathon Motors has announced plans to realize 50 percent electric vehicles by 2023 and fully electric vehicles by 2025.
