Negligence in preventing the outbreak of the Covide 19 virus is said to be costly

Negligence and neglect in preventing the outbreak of the CVD 19 virus is costly.

The CVD-19 immunization and routine immunization evaluation was launched in Adama with the participation of health bureau officials, public relations and communications officials, partners and experts working on the CVD-19 vaccine.

State Minister of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma, said the ministry has been working hard for the past two years to prevent and control the CVD-19 epidemic and has been able to provide the vaccine to about 10 million people.

However, he acknowledged that the outbreak of the epidemic was due to the fact that the community had ignored the recommended precautionary measures against the CVD-19 pandemic.

He called on the public to raise awareness about the CVD-19 vaccine and to take other precautions.

Dr. Meseret Zelalem, Director of the Maternal and Child Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health, on his part said 6,800 people have died and many more have been affected by health, social and economic problems since the outbreak of CVD-19 in the country.

He said all stakeholders should redouble their efforts to ensure that CVD-19 vaccine and other preventive measures are in place.

He also said that although vaccines are in good condition, standard vaccines are doing well, especially in conflict zones, and need to be addressed in this regard.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, the review forum will last for four consecutive days, identifying the strengths and weaknesses and providing input for further work.
