The Sidama Regional Health Bureau has taken full responsibility for the rehabilitation of 10 medical facilities destroyed by the TPLF
Sidama Regional State Health Bureau Head, Dr. Selamwit Mengesha, said that the Ministry of Health has taken responsibility for the rehabilitation of 10 health centers destroyed by the TPLF terrorist group in North Shoa Zone of Amhara State.
Members of the Bureau's management, the region's private health facilities and community representatives visited the war-affected medical facilities in the zone with medical supplies and humanitarian assistance.
They exchanged information with the North Shoa Zone Health Department to determine the extent of the damage.
According to Dr. Selamwit Mengesha, the first batch of 3 million birr worth of humanitarian aid and medical supplies have been delivered to Antioch, Gemzana, Ephrata and Gedim woredas.
"We have started the first round of support to share the devastation," she said.
He said the institutions have taken full responsibility for providing medical inputs until they reach the point where they can fully provide medical services to the community.
According to information received from the North Shoa Zone Communication Office, the Deputy Head of the Amhara Regional State Health Bureau, Gashu Kindu, said that the Sidama Regional State Health Bureau's responsibility to share the damage caused by the invading forces is a positive sign that they plan to stand by us on this auspicious day.
