Ethiopia and Italy have agreed to work together in the agro-industrial park and fashion industry.
The Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, received Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Agustiono Palese at his office.
He said Ethiopia and Italy have a long history of relations and that this relationship needs to be further improved.
He said the Ethiopian government has a great plan to become a hub for the manufacturing industry by increasing the productivity, quality and competitiveness of the sector.
He said four integrated agro-industrial parks have been built to achieve this plan. He said three of them have graduated and are currently working.
Melaku also said that the Ethiopian government plans to create an active economy by gradually following the market-opening philosophy.
The Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia, for his part, said the two countries have deep economic ties and stressed the need for deep economic integration between the two countries.
He said Ethiopia, with a population of 115 million, is a golden opportunity for economic structural transformation and expansion of the manufacturing industry.
The ambassador added that his country has good experience in the agro-industrial park and the fashion industry and the Italian government is ready to share technical support and experience, according to information obtained from the ministry.


 In the Amhara region, 11.6 million people need daily support

 The State Disaster Prevention and Food Security Commission (NDRCC) said 11.6 million people in Amhara State, including those displaced from Oromia and Benishangul Gumuz regions, are in need of daily assistance.

Citizens seeking assistance from the region, the federal government, the diaspora, religious institutions, and charities were asked to provide ongoing support.

According to the Deputy Head of the Commission, Mrs. Etagenehu Ademe, most of the people who were displaced by the TPLF terrorist attack in the region have returned to their homes.

As a result, a total of 1.4 million people have been displaced from North and South Wollo, North Shoa, Oromo and Wag Hmra Nationalities in Amhara State, according to ENA.

Most of those displaced by the TPLF invasion have returned to their homes.

"The 900,000 people who were previously displaced from Oromia and Benishangul-Gumuz states have not returned to their homes," she said, adding that the regional government is still providing support.
