More than 300,000 people have been displaced by the TPLF's invasion of the Kilbeti Resu zone in the Afar region

The Afar National Regional State Disaster Prevention and Food Security Program Coordinating Office said that the terrorist TPLF has displaced more than 300,000 people in the invasion and attack in Kilbeti Resu Zone of Afar State.

The head of the office, Mohamed Hussein, spoke to Fana Broadcasting Corporation about the revenge attacks in the first round by the terrorist TPLF in the Afar and Amhara regions. He said the woreda has evicted residents from their homes.

He said the region is providing humanitarian assistance to those displaced from their homes and shelters in 14 shelters.

"We have learned from the Dagu system, which is the source of information in Afar, that the terrorist group is inflicting severe human suffering on the remaining civilians in the occupied territories," he said.

However, he said, due to the inability to provide humanitarian assistance, it was not possible to reach out to those in need.

He said the government should take steps to find a lasting solution to the problem of the Afar people and to lift the yoke of the insurgents.

He said the low geographical location of these woredas in the neighboring Tigray region and the fact that the invading group was located at high altitudes made it possible for them to attack civilians with heavy weapons, making it difficult for many residents.

"The federal government should focus on finding a lasting solution to this problem and freeing the Afar people from the scourge of terrorism," he said.

He also called on international aid agencies to reach out to the people of Afar who are in dire straits.
