The regional administration led by the head of the Somali Regional State, Mustafa Mohamed, has inaugurated the 155 million birr Harthech-Harshin gravel road.

The Harthech-Harshin gravel road project, built by the Somali Regional State Irrigation and Basin Development Bureau, has been completed on time and will connect the people of the three zones of the state.

The construction of the road will take two years and cover 50 km, officials said.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mustafa Mohamed Omar said the regional government is working to address the community's infrastructure needs in addition to coping with the effects of climate change.

He said the construction of the Harthech-Harsh standard gravel road, which is of great benefit to both woredas and the local community, will alleviate many of the problems faced by mothers during childbirth due to the lack of road infrastructure in the area.

Head of the Somali Regional State Irrigation and Basin Development Bureau, Mohamed Fatah, said the road has been a problem for many years due to the lack of roads in the area.

He added that the road in the two woredas will not only solve the road infrastructure problem but also connect the community in Fafan, Jarar and Dolo zones.
