Breaking news:

Former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has been arrested.

On Nov 14, 2013, four defendants, including former METEC Director General Kinfe Daingun, who had been in office, began testifying in the prosecution's case against him in connection with the purchase of farm implements.

Accordingly, on July 18, 2021, the Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shede, appeared in court. In a 2014 low interest rate agreement, Ethiopia's defense received $ 50 million from the Polish government and explained that the money had been paid to agricultural equipment companies in Poland and that the money had not been imported.

Former Ethiopian PM Hailemariam Desalegn has been repeatedly summoned to testify in his defense.

The federal police, who had been summoned by Hailemariam Desalegn, replied that they had not been able to locate them through the office of the former Prime Minister.

Defendant's attorneys, for their part, said Hailemariam Desalegn was working for the Roman Foundation and was being escorted by government police.

The Federal High Court's Lideta Division 5 Corruption Crimes Tribunal has ordered police to arrest and detain Hailemariam Desalegn.
